Float tubes on the river???

This may be a dumb question but bear with me; I'm a dumb beginner. Are float tubes useable on the Yakima after the flows increase and its not very wadeable? Safe?

Please don't use float tubes on rivers. I've not fished the Yakima, but have seen people turn upside down in lakes. Pretty funny after they got turned around but scary. I know of one man who drowned in a river in a float tube. Pick up a pontoon boat rated for river use and have fun.
