Gee I hope you have a comfortable couch to sleep on!
When I was married I learned to love the couch and developed a refined taste for cold burnt liver! It absolutely drove my former wife over the hill. I guess that is why she is a former. And a very expensive former I might add!

I went last year. Everyone there was tremendously helpful. I bet I got a years worth of lessons from just about everyone there. John Farrar gave me some really solid time with my own rod and all I can say is; What a true gentleman. And What a Spey Caster! I am sure his generosity of time and talent has saved me several years of struggle with the two-handed rod. Tyler Kushnir was booming out some awesome casts. And It was really cool to see Ed Ward demonstrate his unique "Skagit" casts. I kept hoping that some of this would rub off on me.
Even though I am nowhere near able to "compete", Im still looking forward to this event again this year.Maybe I will even learn something again. Thanks to Marlow for putting it together.Don't miss it!

Bob
This year will be different than last year.
They are going to take everyone score add them all together and divide by the number of people that entered, and the one who is closes to that score wins!
That’s what I was told.

Greetings all, I just built myself a ST. Croix 13' 7/8 spey rod and was wondering if this would be a good event for someone to learn the ropes of casting or is it mainly a competition. I have the standerd fly fishing cast down pretty good so I just need to translate it to spey casting, which I am aware are nothing alike.

No not a competion. Just where everyone gets together and you get to learn how to spey cast from some of the best out there. The casting is all done with the same rod and line for everybody. Just alot of fun. Just like fishing with Flip but a whole lot better.LOL

You must have been at the wrong place. It was alot of fun. The weather could not have been better.
Congratulations Bob Triggs on being the average caster and winning
the Skagit Specialist.
Thanks Homer for letting me try your line and the sink tip. I think the SA 7/8 is in my near future. }(
