I once read about using alpaca for saltwater baitfish patterns; however, the recipe centered on white fibers. Considering you only have the color brown, you might try some leech patterns for starters. The stuff supposedly moves well in water and the white stuff catches light like nothing else.

I have used Llama fibers you can dye it to get other colors. I am now using natural colors when I need a cream or brown dubbing that calls for a long fiber dubbing.

Thanks, It seems to me that it would be good for streamers too. I haven't tried using it for dubbung yet; I suppose a leech pattern would turn out nice though. I like the way the fibers are long and soft. It looks like you could make a lifelike pattern out of it. Other than that I haven't found any patterns that "call" for it.
