Does anyone know of any Seattle area shops that are good for picking up rod building material?

Greggs in Lake Stevens
Jimmy at Patricks knows a lot and is launching a site devoted to this

Greggs and Shoff Tackle are sponsors at Rodbuilding.org, a great reference.

Rainshadow blanks: IM7 for a medium fast flex, Xcel for a fast blank. Forecast blanks are the least expensive, and they are kind of squirrelly, as they are quite tip sensitive, fun if you like it, crappy if you take it seriously. Personally, I like how light they fish.

The best deal about Rainshadow blanks is what fine quality you get at a fraction of the cost of the Name Brand stuff, and I hear that St. Croix blanks are just branded Rainshadows.
