There are a lot of good Northwest Spey patterns here...

The March Brown is excellent.
The Sauk River Spey have been very good to me also.
Of course the GReen Butt Spey is about as bread and butter as you can get.

Syd Glasso's spey flies are supremely beautiful and effective, and not complicated, as speys go. His ten or so standard patterns mostly cover the bright end of the spectrum, emphasising orange. A great intermediate color spey is Walt Johnson's Deep Purple Spey (also simple but beautiful). For a dark spey fly, you might as well invent your own, with an emphasis on black materials.
