Thread-Red
Body-Purple Ice Dub
Rib-Gold or Silver Oval Tinsel
Wing/Tail-2 Red Hackle Feathers
Collar-Red Schlappen Hackle

Tie in the tinsel then dub the shank form the hook bend forward. tie in 2 red hackle feathers and pull back over the hook matuka style (imagine that). wrap the tinsel forward and over the hackles while pulling any trapped barbs free of the tinsel. Tie off and cut excess tinsel and add a collar of red schlappen or whatever feather you choose. piece of cake.

Mike, my fishing buddy slays the SH with this fly. His variation is he ties them with a curve (feathers in the same direction) so that he can have them swing in the opposite direction as the curve in the fly. Huh?

Okay, say he is on the right bank, with the current going from left to right, then the curve in the fly would curve in the direction of a C. This imparts a jerking motion to the flys swing.
