Davy,
As I explained to you on the phone about the early flies used on the North rivers in England, the tyers first used duck flank as well as speycock for spey flies. I tied you an example, I really prefer duck flank for my speys over anything. It can be dyed so many colors. This fly is all duck feathers on the wing, hackle and throat.
Fishes as good as it looks.
Sometime I'll post the flies from the 1850's and 60's that used duck flank for hackling instead of heron or speycock.
