Anyone been out to sekiu or neah bay since it opened? Curious how it's fishing. I wont be able to make it out there for 2 weeks to check for myself.

La Push close enough? If so read the following; Not many kings but what there are are big, a few silvers so far, nice ling. I'll see you at Neah next week.

salmon fishing has been slow. been struggling to find full limits of kings, and haven't seen a lot of coho yet.... but it is july 3rd, and coho fishing really doesn't get kicking til the second or third week of july traditionally.

the only good thing is that the quota will probably last later into august due to the lower than expected catches during this big opening weekend.

did have a fantastic bottomfishing fly fishing trip yesterday. got one 20 lb ling on the boat (it grabbed a small rockfish that ate a clouser) plus tons of black rockfish.

Any sign of Pinks, chris? I'm going to try and play hookey on thursday to get out there, I don't think I can wait 2 weeks. :)

Some of the hoodsport pinks have wandered into area 9, so there have to be some in the straights some where

the fishing remains slow. did a tour of area 4 today and did very poorly, as did most boats. there are a few coho and pinks around.... but very few.

this weather likely isn't going to help much, but sometimes we (myself included) can get a little too excited and forget that it is still early and to be patient.

but if you have to get out, you'll likely find a few salmon. it'll build as the season progresses.
