Dry rot at at the rear of the boat. Luckily this was the only spot w/ dry rot.

Post dry rot repair. The mixture is a fiberglass reinforced epoxy wood filler. It hardens nicely, doesn't shrink or sag and sands down nicely.

Here the boat is already for the interlux wood sealer application.

Painted up and looking good!

It is getting there...just need to get some varnish on the inside and the seats and it should be ready for the water. Sure is nice to have friends who have the right painting tools! :beer2:

Did you use a commercial product to take care of the dry rot?

I used a repair system from "The Rot Doctor" Click Here (http://www.rotdoctor.com). This was the first time that I have used products from them but so far I have been impressed. The products that I used consist of a clear penetrating epoxy sealer, layup and laminating epoxy and fiberglass reinforced epoxy wood sealer. All products are a two part system that require mixing equal amounts of each. Interlux also has a dry rot repair system along with West System...they are all similar in thier methods for rot repair.

Sorry for the stupid question. Is the paint you're spraying epoxy based? I've got a fiberglass boat I've got to repaint. I don't know dick about this stuff, but I have a boat I need to work on. That rot doctor will help me too, fortunately none of what I have to repair is in the hull. Man, that boat looks great.

It is a polyurethane with a polyurethane resin w/ teflon and that is about all I can tell you about it. I heard a lot of good things about it so that is why it is making its way on the boat. It went on really smooth and looks great.
