Sekiu-where be the rockfish?

Taking a break from salmon, we want to try some rockfish action, but are a little clueless about it. I would assume that the kelp beds would be a good starting point, but I've heard where people are catching them in open water also. How do you know they are there?
Are there any good rip areas that we can target? Any specifics would be really appreciated.

Try to hit kelp beds and points, or any other structure you can find. I take my boat right into the kelp beds and then tie off on the head of some bull kelp, natures anchor. There are only a couple points near sekiu so I'm sure you can figgure it out. :) :thumb:
