Recently I had some luck fishing for pinks on the Carbon. I tried many different flies but I started having success when I switched to small and pink. Over the course of 2 mornings I was able to bring 7 nice humpys to hand using the attached fly. I came up with this color scheme one day just puttering around at the bench. It is a variation of a fly that Ron Eagle Elk calls a Morning Glory. I am sure that it is NOT an original pattern, but I have never seen this particular color combination. Any information you might have on this pattern or color combination is greatly appreciated.

Hook: Standard Salmon Size 6
Thread: White
Tail: Pink Hackle Fibers
Body: Rear Half Blue Lite Bright Dubbed, Front Half Fluorescent Pink Chenille
Hackle: Pink tied collar style
Wing: Calf Tail

Nice looking fly. I would make a bet that SRC's would like it too nor would I be surprised if a Silver took a whack at it.

Great tie, Have you tried any other vararitons of it? If not, try a orange & black one for the darker days ;) . . . .

Nice. Looks like it has serious potential for coho too. Just started tying with Lite Brite and I love the stuff!

Warren, Great looking fly! I tried to find some info on that Morning Glory, but there isn't much in the books I have except that it's an old fly. I'm heading to the shop for some lite brite and pink hackle.

Nice tie!

My fave pink salmon fly is pink with a white calf tail wing.
My fave coho fly is chartreuse with a white calf tail wing.

-Something about that splash of white calf-tail mixed w/the other colors that I like & has saved the day for me on certain rivers more than a couple times. ??
