A good pair of scissors is a tier's most important tool. I have always stuck with Dr. Slicks, four inch, all purpose scissors. I am happy with them, no complaints, but am curious to know what others are using. If there is something better out there, I'd like to give it a try.
Thanks
Dave

I have had fairly good luck with both Dr. Slick and Anvil.
Dr. Slick and Anvil are some of the best you will ever see and both also have a large selection of different types. Marryat makes a very good fine point scissors, and Griffin and Gudebrod have some nice, relatively inexpensive ones on the market.

I buy mine in a surgical supply store. They are very high quality with large finger loops and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The price is way better than those sold in the fly shops.

I've got several pairs of Dr. Slicks and Anvils in my tool rack. The ones I always have on my fingers though, are some cheap ones from Tiemco. About $10. I've been using them for close to four years, cut everything that needs cutting and they're still sharp (as my finger scars will attest). Very comfortable finger loops too.

My favorite pair (I've had for aout 13 years now) are tiemco with serrated 'blades'. They work really well for cutting clumps of materials.

I use the kind that you hold in the palm of your hand, and the blades extend out past your hand and you squeeze your thumb to your index finger...you guys know what I'm talking about. I've got two pair that I've had for years. All they say is "Made in Germany" on them, otherwise I'd tell you what brand they are.
