Fished Allyn area on Friday. Saw tons of activity but no hook-ups. Saw a guy with a 6 wt fight at least a 15 lb fish for about 2 minutes before it broke off. Went back on Sunday. Hooked my first salmon ever on fly rod... fought it for about 30 seconds and lost it. It was a kick to watch it jump and roll on the surface. All I needed was a taste, though... and I'll be back after them next weekend. The fly I used was fairly small... brown floss body, sparse crystal and flashabou tail with bead chain eyes.
