Six year old grandson. Tying his first fly with grandpa pulling his hair out. The dubbing twist didn't come out quite right, but I at least got to whip it.LOL

Beautiful. One of the finest examples of it's kind.
Congratulations

That's cool! It's a good thing that he's got a great Granddad for a mentor too!

Could be the next Syd Glasso or Rene Harrop.

What a great memory and gift you're giving your Grandson!

Grandson has done a great job! Keep that fly safe for him to have in the future, he will love you even more for it.

It is nice to see others teaching young 'uns how to tie. I taught both of my now teen sons how to tie when they were 5 because they wanted to learn how. I hope other folks teach their young 'uns to tie.

That's awesome. Wish I had taken pictures when I first taught my kids to tie (about same age when they both started tying). Do believe I did take pictures of their flies later on though. Still have them saved on a disc somewhere.

Do yourself and your grandson a favor and save that fly. Nobody ties a perfect fly in their first attempt, but I really wish I had kept mine. It will make a great memory for both of you, particularly if he continues to tie flies.
