I don't know how many use this stuff for weaving and other types of bodies but if you do, you gotta get one of these sample cards. See pics.

Unfolded it has six pages of color samples and is available through craft stores. Anyone that sells DMC can order one.

The DMC floss is a mercerized cotton that darkens like silk although it doesn't quite have the same translucency. It's pretty durable stuff too and inexpensive.

My wife does some cross-stitching and so she has a ton of this stuff. I've never tried to use it, but I suppose I should. Where would you use it? Perhaps with chironomids? Maybe on wet flies like the partridge and orange?

I use it as a replacement material anywhere I'd use silk floss such as for bodies and ribbing. It works well and at about $0.24 per skein, the stuff's affordable too.
