View Full Version : Clip Art of Flys
Hi:
Need some help... I am looking for clip art of a fly, specifically of a spey fly or maybe a dry fly. for a graphic project.
Does anyone have resource for that? I have looked at a bunch of the normal clip art websites and have not found a god example of the above.
Appreciate your help and happy Thanksgiving!

You can easily make your own. Start with a high-resolution image of the fly you want and open it in Photoshop. (You can probably find a suitable image in the Gallery section of this site. Just make sure and ask the image owner for permission before 'borrowing' their photo.) Convert it to grayscale and knock out the background to isolate just the fly.
Then experiment with the crosshatch filter until you get the look you want. Also, Andromeda Software makes a cool Photoshop filter called Cutline. Use it to create a black and white version of the fly photo that looks like a pen and ink illustration or an old steelplate engraving.
Here's how it works on a shot of an Elk Hair Caddis.

Thank You everyone!
Kent - you are obviously the master of graphics. Great information.
