Hi All from the other side of the 'Pond'
Just found this site on the internet and looks interesting.
Little bit about me
Started fishing (coarse fishing) at 9 years old then a year later tried my hand at fly fishing. Needless to say I was hooked and never went back to the coarse fishing. Been fly fishing for brown trout, rainbow trout, sea trout and salmon for the last 30 years (makes me sound old) and still learning!
At the tender age of 14, I started to learn how to tye flies and ended up tying moose hair salmon flies for Hardys whilst I was still at scholl. Still like to tye flies for my personal use now but dont seem to get as much time
Work as a firefighter in the UK and also own a tackle shop in the beautiful county of Northumberland in the UK. I'm lucky to have some great fishing on my doorstep, especially salmon fishing on the rivers Tyne, North Tyne, South Tyne, Coquet and Reed. Sadly not enough time to do all the fishing I would like. Roll on retirement
Looking forward to reading all the info on here and. hopefully, contributing something
Tight lines
Ian
