spey short head

i was given a mastery spey short head 8/9 for my 8150. i was wondereing where i should cut it, for making a sink tip line. Also can this line be used for skakit casting.

that line works servicably for skagit-type work if cut to leave 34' of green belly line remaining, then add 15' tips. I find the full line to be heavy for standard spey casting on the 8150.
