Picked up one at the show and have been testing it out tonight. It is simply awesome. Got the kit so there are four colors on the different spools, black, mono, red, and randy knapp orange. Took about fifteen minutes to figure out how to reset it. One purchase I won't regret. Nice tool. Also the whip finish tool from wasatch is very good.

They are awesome and so is the Vise. I think my bobbin is back in Wa at the moment. The only problem is the fact you have to spool thread onto the bobbin. Im too lazy to do it!

Daryle,
After a couple years with the Nor-Bobbin, I find I get best results when I fill the spools about 3/4 full. I also bought a ten pack of the spools. When I start running low I break out the cordless drill during some idiotic TV program and load them all up in about 10 minutes.
I also bought a wasatch whip finisher (midge version) for my wife. She's into tying those dang small flies (20 and smaller) and gets better control with the smaller whip finisher.

Congratulations Daryle!
When I first got my NorVise I was a little, well,... reluctant to use the Auto Bobbin.
After getting past the challenges of using any new tool it became indespensable and I've often asked myself, why on earth wasn't I tying with it sooner? *g*

If you take the front hub off of your vise (Nor-Vise), you can attach the spooling arbor to the spindle of the NorVise thus enabling you to spool thread onto your spool after you have put it onto the arbor and attached the thread.
That's the cool thing of Norm's system...it's a system that was very well thought out to the most minute detail.

Don,
Great idea. Unfortunately I tie on a Renzetti, the Nor-Vise belongs to my wife and I'm not allowed to play with it. My only option is the drill.
