If you go to irishangler.com. Jack has trying instructions on GP's He gives the materials needed for a Black GP. I think it is just what you are looking for.

Dean,
There are 2 common ways the G.P. is tied in black.
In the most common one, it is tied just like the original orange one except that it uses black intead of orange for everything but the Krystal Flash in the tail (it uses black or pearl) and the ribbing is silver instead of gold. This version still uses the natural G.P. tippet "eyes" and used either dyed black G.P. saddle feathers or black hen saddles for the wings.
The other one uses a natural red G.P. breast feather under the natural G.P tippet and the rest of it is tied like the one above.
There is also a black version of the G.P. that uses dyed red tippet feather "eyes" instead of the natural ones.

One of my favorite variations on 'The Colonel's' General Practitioner is Art Lingren's Black G.P. as it's a little easier to tie. The pattern can be found in Farrow and Allen's "Essential Steelhead Flies".
Kent Helvie has a marvelous step-by-step tying sequence on the General Practitioner in his book, 'Steelhead Flies', too.
