Are you going to do the FFF Fly-tying competition?

Was wondering if anyone out there was entering this. I checked out the categories, but I am a bit confused. For example, in the Spey category, they give a particular dressing for a fly; must you tie that exact pattern, or any spey fly? I believe they are intending for everyone to tie the exact same pattern, but I'm not sure.

How many of you are FFF members and while we are at it, FFF basic or Master level casting instructors? And, if you are, what have you found as the benefit? Jeff

You must tie the fly with the exact recipe given. This allows to judges to base their decision on the basis of how well each one entered has been tied to the same recipe. This keeps judges from liking one more than another simply because he like the color better. This has been standard procedure in fly tying contests for well over 100 years.
