How do you get wet fly wings to lay against the body?

HH, not sure if this answers your question: when wrapping the head on a wet fly, I wrap back away from the eye over the base of the wings until the wings are as tight against the body as I want them, then tie off.

make sure there isn't a "shoulder" from the materials tied in behind where you tie in the wings. they will never lie against the body if that happens.

Another thing worth noting is the use of soft wing material vs stiff wings such as duck quills. Although softer wings don't look as pleasing to the fisherman, they have more action and life in the water which will fool more trout. I also think that using softer materials is easier to tie down.

Thanks fellas...I appreciate the responses. In researching this problem I've read about all three of your posts.

Desmond, that could be the source of a great debate...Which wings fool more trout? Soft wings or Hard? Things that make you go hmmm...:)
