So I built my first rod last Feb at AATF. It was a 4 pc 9' Rainshadow RX7 8wt. With it I've got a Velo Reel and Steelhead Taper fly line. I managed to get out a few times before the season ended, but alas, it still remains a virgin.

Dang, Desmond. Great looking rod. Nicely understated, just the way I like them. Niceely done.

I was able to cast that rod a few months ago. Very nice stick - both in looks and in performance. Excellent work!

Very, very nice. :) Keep it in good shape, and she'll keep you looking good for years to come :)

The metallic blue thread with the blue inserts looks pretty cool. I built up a Rainshadow the blue ceramics and blue thread. I like your matching metallic trim better. Next time.

Thanks for sharing.

Awesome Rod. May I ask, how much did the materials cost? Interested in building myself some rods.

Thanks
Jason
