Well I was sitting here tying up some flies and realised that I forgot to buy a rotary motor to turn them since I have a cheap vise. After digging around the house I ended up using my sons Nylint rock crawler remote from walmart that has been collecting dust. I just stuck the flies in the lugs and rubber banded the trigger on the controller. It works great but in low gear it is kind of noisy but in times of desperate needs who cares.

I was also in need of a drying motor and came up with using my rotisserie motor for my barbeque, a piece of dowling, and a piece of foam. It's not pretty but works great.

I just hand them to my 5 year old and tell him to play "airplane" with them while they dry:rofl:

I've read several posts and descriptions of folks making inexpensive turners out of rotisserie motors, but after several trips to hobby stores, auto store, Lowe's, Home Depot, second hand stores, etc., and finally putting one together from a copy machine motor (and the stand eventually breaking), I just gave in and bought a retail one for $60.
I would have been WAY money ahead, given the time I spent on making a jerry-rigged homemade job, if I just spent the few bucks on the retail version from the get-go.
Lesson learned for me. :thumb:

Hey, you call lopsided, I call it "built in action". Remember the difference between a "bug" and a "feature" is often attitude! Gi-Gi-Giggity!!!:thumb:

I bought one of those "Nu Wave" HS-1 models a few years ago. It works great.
