Alcohol is a good vice. Oh you mean for fly tying :p The DynaKing Kingfisher is an excellent quality vise in the middle of your price range.

I'm thinking about picking my pipe up again, the Danvise and I have no quarrel.

I second the Renzetti Traveler! I think it's around $160, you can tie on that thing for a lifetime!

REGAL,REGAL,REGAL
The finest vise made as far as I'm concerned. I have tied close to a million flies if not more on mine and its still going strong. The Inex regal is there low end and I think it's around 100 bucks maybe a little more. Close to 20 years of comercial fly tieing and another 7 of normal tieing say's it all about these vises plus they are hands down the easiest and fastest vise on the market - nothing compares!! check them out before you buy anything else.

just found them in anglers workshop catalog:
Inex( fixed head)- 104.95
Rotary C w/ clamp & standard jaw - 142.95
there # is 1-800-278-1069
call and get a catalog evn if you get another vise, best fly tieing selection I,ve seen, especially for saltwater patterns

I'd suggest on you buying a rotary vise so you dont have to upgrade later.

I bought the Peak vise for around $150. It's my first "real" vise after having a $10 Sri Lanka Thompson knockoff for twenty years, so I may not be the greatest judge of vises. But it works really well for me so far, and it appears to be very well made.
