Hi folks,

I just found this site and it looks impressive. I'm an Aussie and my interests are fly fishing for trout and fly tying. Both of which I hope to learn more about from the more experienced. I also like to participate in fly swaps and get constructive critiscism of my flies, every little bit I find helps in moving forward. I hope this is the beginning of a great relationship with all on this site.

Welcome aboard. Things are a bit quiet of the tying front. In this hemisphere, this is the time of year to be loosing flies (or tying emergency replacements). There are a few swaps ongoing, but the pace will pick up through our winter, your summer.

While the trout fishing in New Zealand and Patagonia is well-known, I would appreciate it if you could describe some of the trout fishing opportunities in your corner of the Southern Hemisphere.

Tight lines,

Steve

Also like to add my warm welcome to an excellent Board. Here many of us actually use our 'first names,' feel free to do the same.

Gig,

Welcome aboard. I'm wondering if maybe we haven't chatted in another fly fishing chatroom. If it helps, I have a Kelpie at my feet.

Hi Ron,

We certainly have chatted, I'm the Aussie with the 2 Jack Russells and please give the Kelpie a pat from another Aussie. Its been a long time since we've chatted, unfortunately you are never on - line when I am but I've asked about you. Hope all is well and I really would lke to get involved in some of your swaps.

Take care

Welcome Gig,

Just keep an eye out for swaps, they start up all the time.

What species do you target?

Welcome aboard. Want to do a Fishing Swap? You come here and I guide you for Coho salmon and I go there and you guide me for BIG BROWNS? It's great to have some international representation on this board. Good fishing! Jeff

Hi Super-Fly

Sounds like a great idea but i have yet to catch a big brown, always trying though. I am going to Tasmania at Xmas time for some touring with my family but I will be taking the flyrod with me hoping to catch a nice size trout. Tasmania is the spot for big trout so I can only hope that my offer will be accepted at the time of casting by the wiley trout.

Cheers
