Guys and gals,

The Morning Hatch in Tacoma is sponsoring a FREE beginners spey clinic on the Puyallup River Sunday 08-13-06 at 9 AM. The class is supposed to run till 1 PM. There will be at least 2 instructors. Contact the Morning Hatch for more details and availability. (No I'm not affiliated with them).

If you don't have a rod...no problem, they will have several outfits to try out. 2 of the instructors will be Charles St. Pierre from Northwest Spey Casting and Gene Oswald. Both are phenomenal casters and great guys.

I went to the last one about a month ago and it was GREAT. So far, I believe there are 9 people signed-up. I don't have the phone number off hand, but you resourceful people should be able to find it......:thumb:

Hope to see you guys there

COOL!

I do not know the other caster, but I do know Gene. ( He is known in one small circle around the Cowlitz as Gene Gene The Castin' Machine! ) If anyone is a long line enthusiast and doesn't know him or hasn't had the pleasure of watching him cast....you best go meet him. I'll try to get out there for a bit...and then I am headed south. However, if after meeting Gene and you see him down stream in a yummy steelhead run, save yourself the trouble of fishing and just go home. You won't stand a chance....

Stay Safe up there Buddy!

Charles is every bit the caster and angler Luv2flyfish describes Gene to be. While it would be presumptuous for me to claim him as a friend, I do think the world of him.

With the two instructors named, this is likely to be a terrific event!
