I am very close to getting my first spey rod set up, I am looking for a all around rod that will most likely be my one and only for at least a full season.
something a kin to a 9ft 5wt. I just got an Orvis Mach VI reel for the setup...
My first choice rod is a CND Northfork Specialist Rod /13ft3in 8wt
and my second choise would be a Sage VT2 8139-4
do any of you have these rods? Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.

I don't know to much about those 2, but I got to play with a 7130 VT2 w/ George Cook teaching and that rod matched with a windcutter line...WOW!!!!
Those VT2 are some sweet sticks. George called them the "tweeners" as in between the sage euro and traditional actions. It truely was a sweet easy stroke. He raves about the 8139 VT2 even more, but never got a chance to play with it.

In my opinion either one of those rods will serve you very well as they are both great rods. I can't think of one thing that would make me recommend one over the other. You have made your decision. Just do it.

Jason,
I haven't tried that Sage model, but have cast the CND and like it. I prefer the lighter feeling series found in the Custom 1308, which is discontinued, and now I have the Solstice. Like Mike says, you will probably be pleased with either rod. Although I have a Sage in my collection, I've become something of a CND fan, a thing I'd previously reserved only for bamboo rods.
Sincerely,

I don't think you can go wrong either way..I have a CND Oceania that I am love with...Throw them first..Spey rods are tricky as you know..Good Luck..

I've cast both. I would go with the CND. It just feels right in the hand TO ME. A real four season rod that you can "feel" regardless of whether you have on a skagit line or a midspey. Nothing against the Sage. If you like a faster rod the Sage would be a great choice, but I'm just leaning to rods that feel like the CND...
