I spent the last week up at Neah Bay (unsuccessfully) chasing salmon. Seems like everyone was having a tough time. During the entire week we only caught 3 silvers, and of those, only one was a keeper. Lots of chinook about - most of them smallish - but we weren't able to catch any of legal size outside the line. Bottom fishing was fun though - the fly way outfished my gear compatriots :)
Seemed like the silvers were still way out there where people reported some decent fishing.
Had one interesting encounter with a whale that decided to rise directly under the boat - we had some anxious moments wondering whether we would have to deal with a large pissed off sea beast!
