Anyone have a suggestion for a good line for a 12'6" Spey with a Forcast blank?
Hi Don, Try a search on http://www.speypages.com/speyclave/forumdisplay.php?f=97
Should find plenty of info. Also, the folks at All About the Fly in Monroe are really in to the Forcast rods and could point you in the right direction.

If I remember correctly Kristen (AATF) is running a Mach I 10/11 plus a few others on hers.

Yep, My favorite line on the 12'6 Rainshadow is the Hardy Mach I 10/11.
The rod is underrated and needs about 550gr weight. Also - the short head lines rather than a mid-spey are the way to go. Other lines that work well:
9wt SA Short Head
550 Rio Skagit
Also-- the new SA lines should be in the next couple weeks. I'm guessing that the new SA Skagit heads and the SA Multi Tip Short Head lines will match up well too. (I can't wait to test 'em out!)

I forgot to say this is a 7/8wt. I'll check out the resource you mentioned hurl, thanks everyone.

Like Kristen says: The rod may be rated at 7/8, but it likes a lot more mass out off the tip. She knows this rod as well as anyone.
Kristen is spot on with her lining recommendations including her caution about not considering MidSpeys and other mid-belly lines on this model.
