This is not intended to be a nasty/rude reply but check out the thread on the fly fishing forum "Summer run are in the Snoqualmie" to see the results of fishing reports that include specific locations. The moment somebody posts a report that he/she caught a fish at Lincoln Park, the place will turn into a zoo. I am not advocating that we shouldn't post fishing reports. What I am advocating is that maybe we should let people do some of their own investigative fishing. No need to serve everything on a platter for the lazy ones!!! :-)

Hey Lex, go out there and give it a try. That's what this flyfishing is all about. Don't wait for some guy who you don't know to give the green light on any certain spot. He may have no idea what he's doing. This entire website reeks of flyshop info anyway. Anytime you hear reports of "the fish are in", so have 400 million other clowns. Get some topo maps, check out feeder creeks, and start exploring. Keep a journal and over the years you will have your own "fish runs" and timing. Thats flyfishing.

Thanks coachduff. Great advice. I need to start the lifetime fishing journal. Marcopolo, not to be rude, but look how coachduff aproached the same response. Maybe that's how you should go about it in the future.

Instead of implying lazyness you should give people the benifit of the doubt - going through a divorce with two kids - I wouldn't call myself lazy, just a guy who needs to blow off a little steam in a constructive manner.

Cheers,

Lex

Lex,

Just try low light high tide a few times and you'll do okay there like just about all the beaches right now. You can also park your car and hop the ferry to Vashon or Southworth when the tide is lower so you have good beach access. It is the time of year to just go when you get the time. The worst you'll do on any beach this time of year is a small flat fish or bullhead but they wiggle too.

Then let the rest of us know where and when you found 'em.

Lex,

Try this book. "Walks and Hikes on the Beaches around Puget Sound" by Harvey and Penny Manning.

There are no fishing reports but lots of helpful information on access. Good luck with resolving the divorce and good luck with trying out your distance casting.

I was fishing out of my kayak in an area just west of L.P. on Sunday and caught one coho & a bunch of cutts. It's definitely worth getting out there!

I just got acouple of the books Mr. P mentioned. I picked uo Central Sound and South Sound on Amazon, and they are great for finding access to Sound Beaches. :thumb:

So is it a pain to cast from a kayak? I don't know much about kayaking, but doing so in the sound sounds like it's fun and not too hard. Should I give it a try in the next few years?

I have a sit on top kayak that provides a very stable platform to cast from. It's really nice in Puget Sound where you can target fish that are cruising.
I still like my float tube for fishing lakes though because can have my hands free to cast to risers and I also have more storage space for fly boxes...

I've had alot of fun fishing LP. I brought in a nice Silver once, and was mobbed by excited on-lookers.

Go out an fish and don't worry about some of the people here. Some people here only reply to discourage people. I have been out there fishing blindly. You have no idea how many park I have been to. At times, I look like an idiot walking around the beach. I caught no fish yet (except 2 sculpins in Dash Point), but I enjoyed my mindless exploration. The beautiful view of the sound is a big plus. Keep at it and good luck!!

I fish from a, you guessed it, canoe in the sound. Not too bad as long as the waves don't kick up. Kayak is probably a bit easier.
