Hi all
I’m new to the site. Looking for an egg pattern. Hope someone can help me out?
I was fishing Oak Orchard Creek in New York last year and meet someone that gave me an egg fly. He said it was tied with rug yarn. It’s the kind that would be used for what they call hook rugs. The colors are all pastels.
Dose anyone have or know of this pattern. If so could you please give it to us?

Thanks much
Steve

Hi Steve,
It sounds like you are talking about a glo bug. Here is a like to some tying instructions for this pattern.

Here's a link for an egg fly pattern using Chenille.

globug yarn is the best stuff, when you "blow" it full, the strands really weave together and when you trim it down, man does it look good wet.

try macfly foam as it is much easier to handle and cut. the cutting us the tough part as it dulls the sizers(sp) a bunch. mike w
