Goggle Lani Waller+waller waker. This will give you a full page of 'take offs' of the orig. Waller waker. Bumble Bee (black and red or yellow), etc., and etc. Goop these buggers up and they'll float a drift boat. If you need 'a fly pattern' that will really stay high and dry, do the pattern with a foam material and marking pens for the colouration.

Here's a good sellection of 'skaters' done up as tube flys. As they're, in the main, done with foam material these will float like a cork. Only 'secret' is you must use a plastic body AND about 1/8th of the way back heat a pin and burn a hole (45 degree slant) into the plastic. Your leader goes up/through the hole, down the center of the body and hook is attached as normal.

If you try to just go through the center of the 'tube' these will 'dive' like any other fly (or at least not ride/skate as high on the water surface.
