We have Sam Brenkman from the Olympic National Park speaking at our general membership meeting. Sam is a fisheries biologist and has done extensive work on the Oly. Penn rivers. Currently he is doing some great work on Hoh River Bull trout. Sam plans on discussing the parks current research projects as well as looking at the overall shape of the main systems runs and how they plan to manage for the future. There will be pizza and drinks before hand so if people show up around 6:00, we can get Sam going around 7:00 pm.

When:Wednesday November 1, 2006 at 6pm

Where: The UW Horticuluture Center.

Speaker: Sam Brenkman, fisheries biologist on the Olympic Peninsula

Good, amazing, somewhat sobering. (in spite of the alcohol consumed..)

Someone who attended should post a re-cap.

I'm no good for a recap, but that was the first meeting of that kind I've been to and I was very impressed. Everything Sam (the ONP biologist who presented) had to say was very interesting and engaging. It was real cool to hear about different monitoring techniques and see some of the numbers in different areas. I thought the tracking of that one Bull Trout was hilarious.
