Cracks in flexcoat at ferrule "HELP"

I have a Thomas & Thomas 9' 5wt 2pc. At the ferrule there are several very fine cracks in the flex coat. They are very hard to see, you have to look at it with a lamp on and very close maybe a foot away. The cracks are near the hole of the ferral. I sent an Elkhorn rod back that had one crack in it at the ferrule and it was sent back to me stating there was nothing wrong with it, just a cosmetic thing. What do you think?

I would think that your rod will be okay. Although I am sure that the epoxy gives some strength to the support of the graphite walls of the ferrule, the thread provides most of the strength.

Plus, if your rod does break, T&T will replace it.
