Does anyone know if these rods are the same blank? I'm assuming they're not. The price difference is astounding if they are. The line recs on the Loomis website are almost identical. EXCEPT for the Rio Windcutter lines?Double the price for some (admittedly) pretty cosmetics is quite a gouge! Anyone with some knowlege please chime in!

The blank in the GLX rod is much better! While as you point out, the cosmetics are different, I don't find the workmanship in either to be especially good.

Hi Red Shed.
I have handled many of these rods and prefer the GLX. As for workmanship, I have found the rods I have handled to be of very good quality. They stand behind there products but I have never had the occasion to test the guaranty.
What's the weather like over there?

It's rained off and on all week and the river went out for a couple of days but we've had nothing like western Washington. The Clearwater has come down to fishable levels and cleared up some to a nice green color.
