Headin up for birds today

I'm hittin Swanson Lakes Wildlife Area today. If I down any birds I'll trade pelts for flies. I'll be goin after pheasant, hun, and quail. Happy trigger fingers and tight lines.

No birds today, I'll give it another try tomorrow, then hit Lake Roosevelt. Make it a full day.

Still NO birds. Flushed a couple covey of quail and saw two roosters on my way in. Its a shame I don't have a dog, might have actually gotten a chance to at least miss a few.

why can;t you follow up on the quail? i have shot a lot of birds without dogs, mainly by watching where they land and then hunting into that area.

I'll get em next time for sure. they always bed down in the same area so I'm gonna give it another aproach. Those birds are as good as gone.
