Hey
I recently tried 9145-4 and fell in love with it. I am thinking of buying two rods from Burkheimer but don't know who to buy. It seems to me that 8139-3 is very popular so I'm really interested in this one. Anyobody tried them both? are the action similar? I also did try a 8135-4 but this one was a little bit too stiff and fast. Whats the difference between the 9143-3 and 9145-4??
I think I might go for the 9145-4 and 8139-3 but I'm worried about them beeing to much alike regarding lineweights. I felt the 9145-4 was quite light and if the 8139-3 are powerful I end up with two rods carrying the same line. If anybody who are familiar with the Burkheimer and can answer my questions I would be grateful!

Exactly! LBB'A pretty much nailed it there. The question may really be 'do I want a 'summer flow' and a 'winter flow' rod. There one of his 7/13-9's and a 9wt may give you the spread you're looking for. (Sidebar: there is a hell of a difference in rod action just between the Burkie 7 and 8's; far more than most rod designs.)
