the loomis has a lighter swing weight, and all else (good and bad) that comes along with a slightly lighter tip.

i have the greaseline and it's got the worst cork ever!! I have the alta which is less then half the price and it's got better cork..For the price you would think they would use some decent cork. This is not an isolated case either i have looked around and every greaseline i have seen is like that. Otherwise the rod itself is very light and nice to cast.

I have spent a lot of time casting both rods you are asking about. I mostly cast Delta Longs. For me both are very nice sticks. I think the 7/8 Greased Line is more powerful and with my meager ability needs an 8/9 where I like the 7/8 on the Solstice.
I will agree the cosmetics could be some better on the Greased Line, especially in light of it's price.
You should find a shop that will let you cast both side by side so you can make your own decision.
