I tied this up last night on a 2 1/2 inch tube. I put some junglecock eyes in the back and used angoran goat for a body. I don't have any Rhea so I used ostrich. What does everyone thing of it? I don't have any examples that I can actually put my hands on to tie it. I used Jack Cooks PDF file as a recipe.

The only recommendation I'd make is to put a set of lead eyes on it. My experience with Intruders is that they don't sink very well without the lead. Other than that, the thing looks great! Fish it!

Lead is a must!
Looks like a good fly otherwise.

Yep some big lead eyes are needed to sink that thing. Go lighter on the materials too I have learned.

I'm curious, does using a sinking tip line fix this problem?

You can probably get that thing to sink without putting lead eyes on it. However, to get it to a fishable level, you might have to use 20 feet of t-14, or a big boy tip. I'd personally just rather deal with the heavier fly, but that's just my opinion. I also agree with trying to dress these things as sparse as possible. That'll be a major factor in how well the fly sinks. I have found that tying Intruders on the smallest diameter tubing possible helps them to sink better. Metal tubes are also an option, although I personally don't like casting the things.
