after surviving 19 years of constant service thosands of hooks, flights and road trips abroad. Out lasting 3 wives, 4 dogs, 5 pairs of waders, 2 boats and 4 different river riggs. My regal vise broke last night while tying a 3/0 purple spey, The jaws have crackd at the ring on the near side by the spring I believe this is a fatal wound, anyone have any experience with regal repair? I certainly can afford a new vice but this one certainly has been a constant and reliable tool.bawling:

Although many years ago, I broke the jaw tip. One phone call, UPS'd it to them, and it was back toot sweet. No problems or hassles at all.

Give them a call!!!!

Yeah, I have one and while I haven't broken it, I bought it used from a fly shop employee largely because of the rep of their customer service. Give 'em a call and let us know how it goes!

Don't disparage finding a replacement part! (I recently found a replacement '92 Lexus leather door panel on-line in ALABAMA)

Replacement jaws (and converstions) are available for ALL of the Renzetti family of vices. The vices are "lifetime guaranteed" to boot.

Assuming you don't overtighten hooks on your Traveler, how can the jaws break? The Traveler is NOT intended for hooks over 2/0 at the very largest.

I glued my Traveller jaws together with super glue once and then got the cam jaws. I am sure eventually I could find another way of breaking it. Yes I guess you can get just about any part from Renzetti, good to have that insurance.

Never used over a 3/0 hook in the traveller.

I think he was talking Regal not the other R word, I believe the lifetime warranty thing that sounds like spaghetti went down the drain with talking to another member here.
