I am considering buying the new blue 7130-4 piece...any thoughts as far as performance and what line to run?:confused:

very smooth rod, plenty of stick for most winter fishing around here. i fish a skagit 450 with 9-12 ft of t14 and seems about right. others might cast a heavier skagit or a scando head.

I think it's a great rod and you will be very pleased. Sage's George Cook recommends a skagit 450 with tips in the 109grns to 150grn range or a 7/8/9 WC. I think a 7/8 MidSpey also works well. I know one little gal using this rod and throwing a 550skagit with 8wt tips. She can huck alot of string with that setup.
