ok, so one of my das freinds just gave me his belly boat for free!, since i have no i dea how to use it can i have some info, its a u shaped one im not sure witch brand. but i have heard of people wearing chest waders when they go out with a belly boat and since im a little freaked out by seaweed in deep water id probly go with that., is this the right thing to do or should i just wear shorts and tough it out?:confused:

You would be best off with the waders considering frozen feet and other body parts, not to mention leeches like to find a host for lunch.

waders for sure! + you won't feel the seaweed...:) Best to use them.

you need some waders, preferably neoprenes for warmth. you also need fins or you will not go anywhere. aqua sox or wading boots are good, but whatever you wade in will do for now. take a life jacket too even if you don't wear it. have a great time. still waters only.

Similar question came up on a board over here. Ignore the location-specific stuff...plus I'm guessing you have the Spoka-Vegas area lakes figured out already. If you pick through the thread there's some pretty good info on gearing up, general care, etc. for tubes.
