Mark Mandell and Bob Kenly have published a new book through Amato. The book features over 200 patterns tied by 35 tiers from around the world. Anil Srivastava has a chapter dedicated to the Shock & Awe, herring and smolt patterns that he has created. Other local tiers including Mike Croft, Tom Wolf and Cam Sigler Jr. are also featured. A quick review revealed many interesting patterns that should work well in northwest waters. I know what I am going to be doing tonight.

Steve,
Is the book finally available? I preordered quite a while ago. I can hardly wait to check it out.

Cameron, I picked up my copy today. In stores yesterday. You should have it soon. There are some very interesting patterns with lots of international tiers. Thanks for the introduction to John. He just sent me 10 more hackles including some amazing navy blue that should be great for herring patterns. Keep in touch buddy. Steve

i havent put a hook in my vise since my first tube, ive done everything down to a stonefly, but i need a good chiro pattern:)
seriously tho, i think you save time, save your wrist, and use less material. love the whole idea. definitely a convert.
thanks Ibn for the heads up on the density of the material, they look so much better!
