Can you drive up from 84 on the east side of the Sandy to Oxbow this year? In previous years there was a road closure up that route.

I will be traveling all the way from Cape Cod and will be there on both days in my official capacity as, " Hanger Arounder," for TFO.
I am really looking forward to meeting and learning as much as I can from all of you folks!

Fred,
Are you motor homing it this year?
Jim, that WAS "The Plan" until Joan's father took a 'header' on some stairs a bit over a week ago. After surgry, etc., he's now in physical rehab so Joan has to spend a lot of time with him (like getting up and into the bathroom, etc.).
With that, we're (I anyway) now going to spend the long weekend; Joan will be there something like a month ..... bawling:

Much better answer; but I do "feel your pain." Had to fill up before I left Ashland this morning .... $3.49.9/gallon! Refilled in Albany (Costco) at $3.17.9/gallon. At 6.1 mph per gallon in the MH I don't even want to know what the round trip would have cost me.:beathead:

Looks like decent weather this year. Not as good as last year but highs in the mid 60s tomorrow and 70 on Sunday. I'll be with my white dodge, white topper, with white WFF sitcker.

Wish I could make it guys, but unfortunately I will be doing other things this weekend. The new loop rods are badass, also be sure to try the BIIX 13'3" with the 500 Skagit if anyone has one rigged. It was a great rod to cast over on the skagit. One of my favs was the Meiser Mike Kinney Special. Be sure to try one of those too....and then there was the CND...and the Sage Z-Axis 6126... Wow, I guess just try them ALL!!!

I was there yesterday. Fun Times. Talked a little with Paul Miller. He tied a fly with his Rhea material and showed me how to strip it etc. Really enjoyed that.
Watched a few presentations. Got to cast a Delta Long belly spey on an Echo rod. Way fun having that much line out, but not a real "fishing" line for me. I'll stick to the Windcutters and Skagits.
I learned I want Airflows new Mono floating running/shooting line to put on my skagit line. With this stuff you don't have to make all the dang loops. Just pile it all up and Launch it.
Saw Dec Hogan's presentation. Fun. The Boy can still bomb the line out there. Chatted with him a little bit at the booth. Hung around with Steelie Mike and his posse for awhile, Talked a bit with Marty Sheppard then Had to go home.
Peace

It was definitely another great event. Made it down on saturday and got to meet up with Sloan, Flybill, Ron & Kristin from AATF, Fred Evans, K2Flyfisher, Mike Kinney and many others. The event is continuing to grow - they're going to need to reserve the whole park for this event in a couple of years.

This was my second time there, the first being two years ago. Bigger turnout, more vendors and distributors, and even more interesting demonstrations in many cases. Also saw Dec for the first time since he moved to SLC and a number of others I hadn't seen in a while, and a few that I hadn't seen since last weekend's casting games at Rockport on the Skagit. And good food and good company. It's worth putting on your calendar for next year.

As did everyone else, enjoyed my self thoroughly; was even able ... till late on Sunday  ... to keep my wallet in my pants pocket. Many, many new rods, lines, etc., (Big Boy Toys) to play with, but the thing that really got my attention was the 'low price point' spey rods.
The Echo and TFO's (designed by Bob Meiser and Mike Kenney) were really something to cast and beautifully finished rods. Look out Sage, et. al!
