John Hicks, myself, and 6 other dudes hit the South Holston and Wautaga rivers this weekend and it was sulphur mania. Each of us had 30 fish days with more than 70% on the dry. The average fish was around 14" with some stretching to 17". These rivers are tailwater fisheries and actually would not provide a trout habit without the dams and weirs that feed them with cold water and oxygen. If you are ever travelling through North Carolina or Tennesee, give us a call!

Nice, when I lived in WNY, the Sulphur hatch was one of the most productive of the year. A little CDC comparadun was usually the ticket with the bigger, pickier fish.

Sounds like a good time. What's up with the smile... a moment of weakness? :)

The SoHo rocks......best place I've fished so far in the east, at least dry fly fishing for bigger browns. Do those sulphurs hatch there all year long or what?
