Total rookie to Dry Falls
I get to be the lucky one and put my pontoon in to Dry Falls this weekend. Any advise??
Dry line/Dry Flies?
Clear medium sinking line/ wooly's & sculpins?
Trolling or stay still?
Weeds or deep water

Damsel nymphs on an intermediate line for fish cruising in the shallow areas off the boat launch, chironos under a bobber and you should have some dry fly action as well.

I was there for the first time last Saturday and it was pretty slow. Of course I was there from about 10-5 which is probably the worst time to fish. The guys who were having luck during that time were using chironomids fished pretty deep (like around 20 feet). Lots of damselflies around, but I had no luck trying a nymph. The fish people did pull in were pretty nice though, and the scenery and bird watching is excellent! I'd recommend hitting the lake earlier and/or later, and taking a hike somewhere in the middle of the day.

Stop by the fly shop in Ephrata. They should be able to give you some advise & flies.
PeteK - What interesting birds did you see? Do you see the falcons?

Yes, the falcons were fun to watch as they liked dive-bombing on the swallows. There was also some kind of hawk circling, way, way up above the cliffs. I'm not a bird expert, but I would guess ferruginous hawks, and there were about 50 in the sky at one time. Also lots of red-winged and yellow-headed blackbirds around.
