Hey fellas. I recently blew the knee out in my Bailey's waders and am having them warrantied. My local fly shop has scheduled an outing and I am wondering if it would be tolorable to go to nunally this weekend without waders. I am thinking just barefootin it with fins. Not perfect I know, but thats fishin! I know the day temp is around 80 and we will be fishing from about 9am till the late afternoon. Should i go for it?

It's still too chilly, IMO. I was there a couple weeks ago and the water temperature was in the low/mid 60's. I bet which ever fly shop is holding the outing has an extra pair you could borrow.
There is also some awesome bank access at nunually where you can easy spot and cast to crusing fish. Watch for snakes.

go for it...why not? does your toon keep you out of the water? worst case you get a little wet once in a while. not sure that i'd go barefoot though...that may become painful after a while.
or you could stalk the shorelines as mentione above. thats a ton of fun.

Come on, someone has to have an extra set of waders..... Ask the fly shop if they have "loaners".
I wouldn't go without wader, would likely be a short day on the water.

Definitely make the trip. Saw my first eastern WA scorpion last weekend at Lenice. Wouldn't worry too much about dem leeches, but check for ticks.....
I know a couple of guys that have wet waded the Lenice chain lakes or fished in tubes/pontoons without waders that have ended up with some nasty aquatic parasites - wasn't swimmer's itch. Left big, raised, itchy, to the point of unbearable rashes. Also read a story a while back, think it was in a Shewey book - something along the lines about a guy that float tubed in his whitey tighty's there and was miserable to say the least in his man region thanks to to those burrowing little devils. Get some loaners dude.

Boom Boom, I can bail you out. I have a pair you can use.... come by the school, or give me a call today. I will be busy this evening and tomorrow so let's hook up to day by phone. I will pm you. Mr Therrell used these once, so I know they will fit.

I heard that the water around Lenice/Nunally is high in alkaline, and that it will affect you like a slight burn after prolonged exposure. Has anybody heard this before?

I spent some time in the Dr.'s office after wet wading Lenice a few years ago. Awfully glad I didn't wade any deeper than I did.
Had I waded any deeper I would have requested that the Dr. apply the ointment wherever needed. She was hot.:thumb:
