I know I live on the eastside now, but when I lived on the westside I did tons of SRC/saltwater fishing. I would be interested. Are we doing Clouser's only with bucktail, flash, diff. colors etc., or can we use any materials as long as it somewhat resembles a clouser? Anyways, either way I am in... Need to start replenishing the saltwater box anyways for a couple of trips to Seattle this summer/fall.

I'll sign up Daryle...easy to tie, easy to fly and right now I throwing them at bass. If your talking traditional clousers I be willing to tie up some black over yellow deep clousers with bucktail.

I'm hoping for at least six tiers and a couple of patterns a piece.

Let me know any time frame guys and we can work from there. I'm thinking July 15th.

This would be my first swap, but since I took tying lessons from Bob I feel obliged to join. I could do his crayfish, foxee minnow or mad tom.

OK, the swap is on and closed.

1. DaryleH (myself) flies are done and in
2. obiwankanobi flies are done and in
3. James St. Clair
4. Scott Behn Flies are done, Excellent ties flies are done and in
5. riseform Flies are done, Excellent ties, flies are done and in
6. hendersonbaylocal flies are done and in

I would suggest to tie two separate patterns to give everyone a nice assortment, so six of one and six of another. Due date by July 15th, lets let everyone know what they are going to tie so not to get dupes.

Myself for number one fly will be the olive, white with chartreuse eyes saltwater tube , as to number two I'm still reading the book.

As for photos, I usually post them as I get them because I don't want any brain clouds to rush in.;)

Glow in the dark, wow that sounds awesome!!!

So here is what I plan on tying, unless their are objections. I will tie an articulated clouser, char/white, a direct copy of one I saw at Kaufmann's. EDITED!!!! EDITED!!!!

Last night before I went to bed, I thought of a marv idea for a freshwater clouser pattern. Prior to my dream about Paris Hilton and I locked up in a jail cell, I thought of a recipe for a pattern I want to try for yall!!! Yes, Paris was one helluva cell mate!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully bead chain eyes are cool with everyone...I fish an intermediate from the shore so I feel like most of the time the heavy dumbell eyes kill the action (more jig like instead of minnow on the pause)

Pattern 1: Olive/Brown/White Marabou Clouser

Pattern 2: Injured Smolt clouser...its a surprise.

I haven't seen the book so I am not sure about any of Bob's other patterns. If someone else wants to tie something similar I have no problem changing to another fly, I will do some research to check it out.

Unless otherwise inspired, I think I'll go with the two trout flies I mentioned above.

Pattern 1: Clouser crayfish (feather back) as in my avatar (size 10). I have yet to fish this for trout, but it's a fun and involved tie and I'm sure it'll work well. I've done well with the larger furry foam backed fly for smallmouth, but I like the look of this better.

Pattern 2: Clouser Foxee Redd minnow (size 8). I've had great success with this fly and count it among my favorites.

James (or anyone else), would you prefer the minnow pattern on a salt water hook?

Anyone want epoxy on the minnow head (over thread wraps and eyes) or would you rather do that at your discretion?

Dilemma,

Haven't heard from James yet and I see he hasn't logged on since June 27th. Should I go ahead and photo the flies and get them sent out, or maybe extend the date until the 25th in case he's on vacation? You guys make the call.
