The last couple of weeks I have become addicted to fishing the skinny waters of the high mountains here in utah. Most of the fish are small 6-12" or so, but every now and then you get a good sized fish. On monday, I fished a 1/2 mile stretch of a stream up here and caught whitefish, brooks, cutts, cutbows, rainbows, and browns, most of them on large foam patterns. The picture of the fish on the bottom of this page was in the 17" range which was a monster fish for that stream and I consider it a true trophy.

I love small stream fishing, that looks like a really cool stream and the way you have described it, it sounds like it holds good fish too. Wish we had some of those here in western washington.

Those pics just gave me a "quick mental vacation" from my job. Wow, that is a beaut!! I wouldn't pass up a small stream fly fishing trip at all. You just need a doz of Yellow Humpies and EHC and you have yourself a memorable trip.

Very nice creek! It's remind me Uinta mountain area... Fish in these skinny water are just "forgiving..." short casts and strikes are everywhere... Thanks for the sharing!

We are heading to the Uinta's for the 4th and probably again for the whole weekend. Cooler up there! that is a nice brown for the area! I am hoping to catch some of the Albinos and the larger Brookies in the remote lakes.
Here is a brown I caught last year:
